Bangkok is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.
The food is delicious, as are the people.
Because of the influence of Buddhism.
I can’t give you the Buddhist creed in such a small blog, but a recipe I do.
My first time there was because of a stop-over en route to Australia, 20 years ago.
My connecting flight wasn’t for several hours.
I asked at an airport information desk to see a place of worship, have a Thai meal, and buy some Thai memories from the markets, but was told that as a foreigner I wouldn’t be able to do all this in the few hours I’d be in Bangkok.
But then the girl I was talking to at the desk told me that her shift was coming to an end, and that she would personally help me to fulfill these three ambitions.
That’s the nature of Thai Buddhists.
Putting someone else first.
