My brother Malcolm will today be sat inside the pearly gates toasting the fact that Huddersfield are 90 minutes away from the promised land of the Premier League.
His first job, and the start of a career ending as the UK’s leading theatrical pyrotechnician was with Standard Fireworks in Huddersfield.
Me, a diehard Sheffield Wednesday fan never thought anything good ever came out of Huddersfield other than the magnificent Bill Shankly.
But Wednesday were undone by a clever Huddersfield team, who outplayed and out thought them over two legs.
I’m in awe of the style of football that Carlos Carvalhal brought to the team.
Hopefully next season it will reap its rewards.
But in 2017 we should congratulate Huddersfield. A better team won.
Best of luck at Wemberlee.
Who are Reading anyway?
