Bullying, with and without red noses

An unfunny joker

Last weekend I saw a video of The US First Lady, Michelle Obama, making a scathing attack on bullying.
If you haven’t seen it check it out below.
Bullying is one of the most distasteful features of life in the 21st century.
Bullies invariably pick on weaker members of society; women, the very young, the very old, and the disabled.
I read this morning that an 11 year old boy was accosted on his way to our local school by a group of “clowns” – the latest bully craze to hit the UK streets.
For bullies, fun. For the rest of us, grief.

And yesterday I read in the Sunday Mirror that the 6 year old  granddaughter of John Prescott  was similarly waylaid by clowns. John’s instant response was that if he ever got his hands on the clowns he’d transform their plastic red noses into real bloody noses.
And who would object?

Michelle Obama understandably targeted her speech at the sexual predator and US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

That Trump is a serial bully is a matter of public record.

I really hope the US electorate will bury him by turning out in record numbers on Nov 8th.
But back to the UK, because bullying is also a problem on this side of the pond.

I have a neighbour who bullies, in this case my 72 year old wife.

In the UK we have a (prevention of) harassment law which can be instigated by any PC, so when this neighbour complained to a local bobby that my wife – 40 years his senior, sent him one email, it harassed him…
I can imagine the floods of tears.

The price my wife paid was that we had a knock on the door late one night to be greeted by a couple of bobbies, who wanted to talk about her bullying!

They weren’t wearing red noses, but if they’d taken a couple out of a pocket and put them on when they sat down it wouldn’t have been out of place..

No, we didn’t want to talk about a fiction.
We’d rather talk about the crocodile tears of a bully who a day later cackled when I reminded him of the police visit.

That jokers use the law to progress their bullying when public services are stretched as much as they are is quite obscene.

Now 70, I'm getting back into website development and brand protection, as well as showcasing the delightful artistic talents of my beautiful wife Lynne. My projection will encompass a lifetime of database marketing, as well as the Christian democratic socialist ideals of my wife and I.
