Misinterpretation

To begin with, I admit to being a Christian, but don’t think I’m a zealot.
I don’t normally categorize 21st century Christians in the category of fanatics. Most nutcases were in the Middle Ages and before.
And if you take only the words spoken by Jesus you have one heck of a philosophy
Many other parts of the bible are good too (I was converted after listening to these words from an electrifying sermon taken from Ecclesiastes 1.

Meaningless! Meaningless!
Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless

But many other words of scripture contradict the positive words that Jesus spoke about human relationships.
The verse in the graphic, from another Old Testament book, Proverbs, advises not to replace it with your own spin.

So when I saw on Facebook a message to the effect that an homogenous marriage was the only good end product between two people I was sad.

Christ never said a word against homosexuality.
He spoke about the centrality of love.
My take on that is that it means between every person and animal.

Aren’t there many more important things to sink your teeth into than this?
Like child abuse, like pornography, like bullying, like racial, gender, or age discrimination?
Lean not unto your own understanding.

To do so is a step towards the brand of fascism witnessed in Europe in the 1930’s, which demonised the Jews.

Now 70, I'm getting back into website development and brand protection, as well as showcasing the delightful artistic talents of my beautiful wife Lynne. My projection will encompass a lifetime of database marketing, as well as the Christian democratic socialist ideals of my wife and I.
