Today is Memorial Day in the US, and I remember as a student I’d spend summers in New York/New Jersey from late June, in the summer holidays.
I was impressed to learn that North Americans typically went to the beach on that public holiday (to remember, I should add, the defeat of fascism).
In the UK it was too chilly to contemplate stripping off in any place other than the bedroom.
And despite global warming it’s the same today.
I sit at my keyboard with a tee shirt under my shirt, and a cardigan over it.
And the central heating is still on.
Last night I listened to Puff the Magic Dragon on YouTube, sung by Peter Paul and Mary. and I was absorbed by a song which was part of my childhood
As you know the story is about the passing of youthful innocence.
Dragons live for ever, but not so little girls and boys…
Encourage them to enjoy their innocence while it lasts.
