Dinkum Richie Benaud

6 October 1930 – 10 April 2015

Richie Benaud, the former Australian cricket captain and legendary cricket commentator has died aged 84.

It doesn’t seem two minutes ago since his charm enveloped Test Match Special.

He died peacefully in his sleep last Thursday, April 2015.

This sad event mirrors my own brother’s death last December.
More than that, it mirror’s Malcolm’s wife Eileen’s death. as she was the family cricket fan par excellence.
Perhaps they will all, with Colin Cowdrey, be eating fish n chips tonight.

Lynne and I yesterday ate fish and chips in honour of Malcolm, as we always do on Friday nights.
Well done Richie
Not quite Sir Geoffrey, but a good support act.

In fact an excellent support act.
Are all the good square cuts behind us?

I remember when it was cool to go into a barber’s and ask for a square cut, opposed to a short back and sides.

Richie Benaud was a giant of a cricketer,
We’ll miss him a lot.

Click on the adjacent link and you’ll remember the man who was one of the greatest cricket commentators.

Now 70, I'm getting back into website development and brand protection, as well as showcasing the delightful artistic talents of my beautiful wife Lynne. My projection will encompass a lifetime of database marketing, as well as the Christian democratic socialist ideals of my wife and I.
