Are Tories vermin?

65 years ago the NHS was born (5th July 1948) and on the day before its birth its founder, Aneurin Bevan said “No amount of cajolery can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory party… So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.”

Was he going too far?

Probably not. I know Tories who are caring souls, though I’m sad that they’re at ease supporting a philosophy advocating personal acquisition as a cornerstone to our time on planet earth.
What is Bevan saying today as he sees from his lofty perch in heaven the Tories dismantling his beloved creation, the National Health Service?

I guess that he is throwing up, for there are enough resources in the world to eliminate the majority of disease from the planet.

But he is also telling us to roll our sleeves up to meet head on the selfish crackpots for whom charity begins and ends with themselves.

Unfortunately the prevailing philosophy on planet earth is to allow the lucky few to fritter their gains away how they want and bugger the rest.

So sad.
