Hey, son Jonathan and my future daughter in law Alice.
The next 12 months will be eventful, one high point of which will be your wedding, in England, when the good weather comes next year.
For the time being you’re in New York City, a very, very good place to be. Ain’t it wonderful to be there. A singer named Harry Nilsson, born in Brooklyn wrote 1970’s classic song
“I guess the Lord must be in New York City”. This and and many other hits played as a backdrop to my early 20s.
As you sleep off your surfeit of burgers and beer I will be preparing part of a feast for a party next to celebrate our neighbour’s 50th birthday. I’m doing Coronation Chicken, a dish invented for the Queen’s Coronation in June 1953.
It ain’t burgers from the BBQ, of course, but I think I’ll get away with adding a squirt of French mustard and a teaspoon of tomato puree to the other ingredients to the other regal ingredients.
I’ll publish my recipe tomorrow.
