Worn out clothes

I Googled “worn out collar”, “old man’s shirt”, “old shirt”, and similar variations as I tried to find a graphic background to the point I wanted to make in this blog.
All to no avail. Old clothes are not newsworthy. Only new ones.
Then I remembered Imelda Marcos, widow of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, who had a collection of 2,700 pairs of shoes. Can you imagine that number of shoes?
I am currently wearing my son’s worn out denim shirt. This morning I tried to put on one of Walter’s, my father in law. It didn’t fit.
My expanding neck.

There are some people who follow Imelda Marcos’ philosophy. Always buy new.
But how obscene is the collection of Imelda’s shoes compared to my father in law’s wardrobe?

As we approach Christmas we should remember those with few clothes
I’m wearing old clothes on Christmas Day.
I also wish that TV newscasters would stop wearing a different designer outfit every night.
This too is obscene.

We cry when we see poverty on the telly, so let’s make a difference to the quality of the lives of the have-nots rather than buy more new clothes for ourselves,.

Now 70, I'm getting back into website development and brand protection, as well as showcasing the delightful artistic talents of my beautiful wife Lynne. My projection will encompass a lifetime of database marketing, as well as the Christian democratic socialist ideals of my wife and I.
