Tra moglie e marito non mettere il dito

My Italian father in law would often lean over the dinner table to make a point as to how little we know of what goes on within a marriage, crossing his first and second fingers and saying “tra moglie e marito non mettere il dito”.

It’s become one of my favourite sayings…that no-one  can ever know what comes between a man and his wife. And for wife read business partner or best friend, or for football chairman and football manager…how can we know the intimate relationship of others?
I guess that’s why they call it the blues. But as Elton John sang, “Don’t look at it like it’s forever…Between you and me I could honestly say that things can only get better”

So when Gary Megson, until the middle of last week manager of blue and white striped Sheffield Wednesday, was sacked by the owner, do we really know what caused the rift?

All I know is that although I idolised his father, Don, captain of my favourite team Sheffield Wednesday, I was never a fan of Gary’s manner, and won’t cry at his absence.

But I’m not interested in the tittle tattle of their fall out.

Also this week the manager of Chelsea also came a cropper. I guess that’s why those working for Wednesday, or for the Johnnies come lately Chelsea call it the blues.

Hey, I wonder how long Manchester City will survive without singing along.

Now 70, I'm getting back into website development and brand protection, as well as showcasing the delightful artistic talents of my beautiful wife Lynne. My projection will encompass a lifetime of database marketing, as well as the Christian democratic socialist ideals of my wife and I.
